beginINbooksRegistration Required Schedule: September-May 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 pm. Meets in the Secret Garden beginINbooks was created by a group of children's librarians in northeast Indiana. Their goal was to help facilitate children's early literacy development by modeling to caregivers the six literacy skills developed by Every Child Ready to Read. At beginINbooks, children, parents and caregivers come together for a time of stories, music and finger plays. As children take part in the activities they will be having fun while developing skills for future success in school. Parents and caregivers will learn how to make stories come alive with activities and materials at home. They will also get ideas on ways to use literacy tools to encourage the development of language, reading and writing skills with their children. The program is open to parents/caregivers with children ages 3-6. Parents/cargivers must attend the entire session with their child(ren). Click here for more information. |
After School SpecialsNo Registration Required Schedule: Every Thursday During The School Year 3-3:45 pm. If schools are delayed for 3 hours there will still be an after school special. The program will start at 3:30 instead of 3:00. Click here to read our procedures and expectations for after school special behavior.
We will harness the power of the wind and play with bubbles of all shapes and sizes. We will meet outside in the library park. Wands and bubble solution will be on hand for all. In case of rain we will meet in the Close Community Room.
Come join us as we turn the dull, grey concrete sidewalks of Eckhart Public Library into colorful, pastel pathways. You can create everything from temporary chalk "masterpieces" to some colorful games of Tic-Tac-Toe! We provide the chalk and the sidewalk! In case of inclement weather, our program will take place in the Close Community Room. |
