VanHorne Retrospective Extended

A retrospective art exhibit honoring local artist and teacher Andrea VanHorne has been extended because of ongoing interest. A Retrospective Watercolor Exhibit:The Artistic Life of Andrea VanHorne 1940-2000 can be seen through Nov. 10 at Eckhart Public Library. The exhibit was curated by Laura (Fischer) Freeze, VanHorne’s niece, and originally was scheduled to last through October. Library director Janelle Graber said the library has continued to receive requests for more time to view the nearly 50 pieces on display. “Many of Andrea VanHorne’s former students have come in,” Graber said. “They’ve thanked staff at the library for hosting the exhibit and shared how she impacted their lives.” The show is the library’s largest individual artist exhibition and its first retrospective.
