We are touched and thankful for the outpouring of support from the community and beyond after the fire on the morning of July 2nd – including a lemonade stand set up to raise money for the library. (Read more about the fire here and on our Facebook page.)
Donations are currently the best way to help the library recover. The library is insured, but we already know there are going to be expenses that are not going to be covered by any insurance proceeds. A fund has been established at the Community Foundation of DeKalb County. Checks can be mailed to the Community Foundation, P.O. Box 111, Auburn, Indiana 46706, or dropped off at the Community Foundation, 700 S. Main St., or people can give online. Donations can be given online by clicking here.
We are incredibly touched by those asking if there are needed items that they can purchase for the library. We have compiled an Amazon Wishlist with needed items. We are so grateful the generosity of the community. Please consider using Amazon Smile for these and other purchases and support the Friends of the Eckhart Public Library while you shop.
If you are interested in making a donation of items, information about how you can donate can be found here.
The Friends of the Eckhart Public Library will help the library recover, and anyone is welcome to become a Friend of the Library.

Thank you for your support!
